The GEAR of Eden: Millimitter
Millimitters are small cameras less than a millimeter in diameter that are capable of transmitting their images. Multiple millimitters can be translated into a holo, of course.
Zerstorer developed his own millimitter that is well beyond the capability of even the NUSS. His millimitters are also small parabolic projectors equipped with processors and a positioning sensor. When tightly woven together, they may be networked to form a type of invisibility cloak.
Excerpt from The Veil of Eden
He walks inside his GRV alone and uncloaked yet he is always cloaked; always hidden, even now. His ship has a crude 'chameleon skin' that he designed himself. It is comprised of a true liquid crystal in which he has enveloped the ship. Rather than using the centuries old matrix bed, however, each millimitter has its own transceiver and each transceiver has its own nanoprocessor. A 'millimitter' is what Zerstorer named each of these devices containing a parabolic dish that is one millimeter in diameter with a small transceiver in the apex. The nanoprocessors are attached to the back side of the transceiver and are too simple yet to do more than hold data or process more than a few commands. Processing causes too much heat at the nanometric level. In default mode, the processors display on the crystal parabola, the parabolic inverse of that which is received by the transceivers directly behind them on the other side of the ship. The resolution is good enough that most people with exceptional eyesight would smash their nose on the hull before realizing that the ship is there. A second mode displays any of several standard markings (and registrations) for a vessel of this size. A third turns all of the transceivers off for maintenance purposes and a forth opens the nanoprocessors to commands from a normal processor on board the ship. Currently, the ship is in default mode and is completely invisible.
The real hurdle in the overall design was the positioning network. Zerstorer used this same technology to create a panorama on the inside of the hull to display outside events in actual proportion or magnified when commanded.

Now, Zerstorer's full two meter frame, white hair and ebon-skinned features are less than familiar to anyone but his family. So his personal cloak is created from the same technology as his ship's cloak. This cloak, however, has the added benefit of creating an appearance that is an amalgam of those around him. Should someone awake from Zerstorer's mind trick, they will still need to see through his cloak of millimitters. So they shall see, at most, nothing more than a mundane, un-noteworthy mujahadeen. Their eyes would then seek a more interesting target immediately - especially if they have that uncanny human intuition that something is amiss.

He decides to activate the invisibility routines on his cloak. When he pulls the hood over his head, a holo points out that several of the millimitters on his backside were smashed when he landed. He still has plenty of reception for the millimitters on his frontside, but he'll need to keep his backside turned away from his opponent. That's good advice in any swordfight, actually.

"Hold up cowboy, let's probe it first." Nina removes a millimitter from storage and synchronizes it to her Solar link. Then she motions for Ornoc to pull his rod out and affixes the millimitter to the end.
"Go ahead sport."
Nina's Solar link displays a holo of the millimitter's emissions but she loses the signal when it touches the wall. Pulling back, she regains it.
